Former Ambassador Yitzhak Rabin said last night that the U.S. and Israel have agreed on an approach to peace in the Middle East and on Israel’s security “Though we have no written documents, the understanding between us is better than ever,” he told a meeting of the Pioneer Women Club here.
Rabin, who ended a five-year tour of duty as Israel’s Ambassador to Washington last month, said the U.S. was interested in a strong Israel. “There is widespread support for Israel in the American nation beyond the Jewish community itself,” he said.
