Israel’s roads are the most crowded in the Western world, according to economists at the Bank of Israel, the country’s central bank, who cited a comparative study drawing on data from 18 Western nations.
Despite this, the Israeli government allocates less than 1.5 percent of its annual revenue for road construction, compared with an international average of 3.5 percent.
