Open heart surgery has been tested on animals in Jerusalem’s Rothschild Hadassah Hebrew University hospital where a heart-lung machine has been built and operated, officials reported today.
They said that in recent weeks successful experiments in such surgery has been carried out on animals after construction of an oxygenation section for the machine at the Hadassah Brandeis Vocational Center.
