Israel inaugurated today a powerful new Arabic language radio station which can be heard in every country of the Middle East and Moslem North Africa and promptly dedicated the new facility to the promotion of friendship with the Arab people.
Staffed entirely by Arabs, some of whom are recent arrivals from the neighboring Arab countries, the station is independent of the Israel Government Kol Israel radio network. Although the station will be critical at times of certain, Arab regimes the announcer said, it will always defend the interests of the Arab people. He stated Israel’s firm position in favor of the unity of the Arab people and its opposition to the penetration of the Middle East by elements from without.
