Israel is prepared to offer humanitarian aid to the Iraqi people. Speaking after talks at the United Nations last Friday, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said that if the United Nations requested it, Israel would be willing to help. He reiterated that Israel is not part of the war in Iraq, but as a part of the U.N. community, it is prepared to provide humanitarian supplies to the Iraqi people.
