Israel is reopening its embassy in New Zealand, three years after it closed due to budget cuts. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom made the announcement at a meeting in Jerusalem last week when Jan Henderson presented her credentials as New Zealand’s ambassador to Israel. Following the closure, Israel’s diplomatic relations with New Zealand were handled by its embassy in Australia.
