Increased aid from the United States can help to avert a “second round” of Arab warfare against Israel, Rabbi Itzhak Meyer Lewin, Israeli Minister of Welfare, said here last night addressing a public reception for him attended by 1,500 persons.
The member of the Israel Cabinet declared that the Arab states were definitely preparing for a renewed war against the Jewish state. He called upon American Jews to give maximum help to the Israel Government which is now attempting to improve economic conditions in the country. Rabbi Lawin, world leader of the Agudas Israel, will remain in the United States for about a month and will tour the country in the interests of the Agudah movement.
