Opposition to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and West Germany was expressed here today by Dr. Pinhas Rosen, Minister of Justice, addressing a meeting of the Progressive Party, which he heads.
Meanwhile, Prof. Franz Boehm, returning to Germany after a two-week visit to Israel as a guest of the corporation in charge of German reparations goods in this country, declared that the question of diplomatic relations between his country and Israel was “an entirely Israeli question.” Prof. Boehm, who headed the German negotiating team which agreed to the Israel-German reparations pact, was enthusiastic about his visit and declared that he would report about it to Bonn President Theodor Heuss and Chancellor Konrad Adenauer.
