A draft bill for population registry now under study by a Ministerial legislative committee includes a definition of a Jewish national as being an Israeli who has not registered as a member of another religion, it was disclosed today.
An Interior Ministry spokesman said the bill “contains nothing new on matters under public discussion” except that for the first time, it would provide legislative sanction for a clearer legislative definition.
