Units of the Israeli Navy and the Air Force stood ready today to depart for Cyprus to offer aid to victims of the earthquake there which took many lives, caused a considerable number of casualties and left an estimated 3,000 Cypriots homeless.
The Israel Government proferred its aid to the British authorities of the colony through the British embassy here. The Israel Chief of Staff immediately ordered naval and air units to be ready for immediate relief action.
