Addressing the convention of the Jewish National Workers Alliance here, Israel Ambassador Eliahu Elath last night stressed that Israel needs “American know-how.” He said: “We need experts to show us the way to perfect methods of building and work, to raise our agricultural and industrial production and help us to use the new techniques.”
Louis Segal, general secretary of the organization, presiding at today’s session, told the delegates that since the last convention in 1946, the number of English-speaking branches of the Alliance has doubled, reaching a total of 66. The report of the general executive committee, presented today, gave the assets of the Alliance as $2,300,479.00. A total of 11,001 new members, it was reported, were enrolled in the past three years.
