Israel offered humanitarian aid to refugees fleeing the fighting in Kosovo. Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon said Monday he had appealed to the governments of Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia for permission to land an airplane carrying humanitarian aid.
