The fourth medical clinic for Bedouin tribesmen living in Israel territory was opened today near Tel el Maleh, in the Upper Negev between Beersheba and the Dead sea. Present at the ceremony opening the institution were Minister of Health Joseph Serlin and a number of sheiks and leading figures among the various Bedouin class.
The four clinics now serve some 18,000 Israel Bedouin in 18 tribes. Five of the tribes contributed some 2,000 pounds and the Ministry of Health provided several thousand more pounds in build and staff the newest clinic. A doctor and nurse visit each clinic one or two days a week. The clinics are equipped with facilities for minor surgery and treatment of most diseases.
