Israel today opened negotiations with the United States on extending El Al Airline landing rights to include such major cities as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago in addition to the present New York stop. Israel is also seeking broader authority to transport passengers from certain European cities to the United States.
Israeli delegate in the talks, held at the State Department in cooperation with civil air authorities, is Aviezer Chelouch. Other Israeli participants are Ambassador Avraham Harman, Naftali Ben Yehuda, director of the civil aviation department of the Israeli Ministry of Transport; Mordechai Ben-Ari, deputy director general of El Al Israel Airlines; and Dr. Schlomo Sitton, Economic Counsellor of the Israel Embassy.
