The Israel Parliament held a special session yesterday in memory of the late Baron Edmond de Rothschild and his late wife Baroness Adelaide whose remains were reburied Tuesday on Mt. Carmel near Haifa, overlooking fields and colonies which his many philanthropies in Palestine made possible.
Present at the special Knesset session were members of the Rothschild family, Mrs. Vera Weizmann, widow of the late President Weizmann, Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog and other leading personalities. Speaker of the House Joseph Sprinzak read a message from President Ben Zvi, and Premier Moshe Sharett spoke on the role of the late Baron in helping build and develop the Jewish State. He directly assisted 46 Jewish settlements in Palestine.
