A resolution declaring that Jerusalem became the capital of Israel with the proclamation of the Jewish state will be introduced into Parliament on Monday. It is expected that the resolution will be approved unanimously. A decision to this effect was adopted tonight at a joint meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Legal Committees, at which Premier David Ben Curion was present. (See earlier story on page 2.)
The resolution, which was passed at the joint committee session, also urges that a new seat of government be crected in Jerusalem as speedily as possible. It also points out that practical obstacles hindering the establishment of the seat of government in Jerusalem and forcing the establishment of a temporary capital, have been removed.
