Israel joined other nations today in formally expressing condolence over the sudden death this morning of Andrei Vishinsky, head of the Soviet delegation at the United Nations.
Israel Ambassador Abba Eban, in a statement at the United Nations General Assembly, said: “Israel shares the sentiment of grief that has stricken the international community with the death of Mr. Vishinsky. The Soviet people lost an eloquent and devoted spokesman. His death will be felt far beyond his country. The United Nations lost a lucid, erudite and remarkable voice. “
