The first airline with a terminal in an Arab country using the Israel airport at Lydda as a refueling station started operations today when a plane of the Eagle Aviation Company landed in Israel en route from Cyprus to Amman, capital of Jordan.
Permission of Israel aviation authorities was given In accordance with the civil aviation International convention which requires all signatories to grant landing facilities to civilian aircraft. Negotiations for such landing rights took place between the British Embassy In Tel Aviv and the Israel Ministry of Communications and Transport.
