An Israeli delegation will visit Britain at the end of this month to open negotiations for the construction in British shipyards of several ships for Israel, costing about $23, 000, 000, it was reported here today. The delegation is expected to be headed by A. Bar Zeev, director-general of the Israel Transport Ministry.
The Somerfin Company of Israel was reported meanwhile to have asked the Israel Government for a guarantee equivalent to 80 percent of the purchase price of two refrigerated fruit carriers, which the firm wants to order from Italian shipyards.
