Premier David Ben Gurion held two successive separate conferences late yesterday with leaders of the General Zionist and Mapam Parties in an effort to determine whether the two groups will serve in the same Cabinet under the leadership of the Mapai.
It is felt here that the meetings have reached the decisive stage and that while differences exist on foreign and domestic policy, the main problem is the number of Cabinet posts demanded by each of the parties. The Mapam decision on whether or not to participate in the Cabinet will be taken at a special conference of the party’s central committee which is scheduled to open on Sunday.
