President Ben Zvi yesterday planted the first tree in a wood to be established on Mt. Carmel in honor of Kemal Attaturk, first President of the Turkish Republic. The wood, which will eventually contain 30,000 trees, is situated on a 75-acre plot near a settlement of recent immigrants from Turkey.
Mr. Ben Zvi, who addressed the dedication ceremony, recalled his student days in Turkey. The Turkish Minister spoke of the friendly relations existing between the two countries.
