Israel pulled its troops out of the West Bank town of Bethlehem. Sunday’s withdrawal from the center of town came after a heavy day of fighting between Israelis and Palestinians that left one Palestinian dead. The pullback also completed Israel’s withdrawal from Palestinian-ruled towns in the West Bank, as requested by the Bush administration.
