Israel’s offer of the use of Haifa as a free port for Jordan was renewed today by Israeli Foreign Ministry officials commenting on a statement in Bagdad by the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament that hoped Jordan would soon reach the Mediterranean Sea. An Israeli spokesman said that the Iraqi statesmen might have been commenting on Israel’s long-standing offer to Amman, an offer which he stressed remains open.
