Authority for the release of 21,650,000 Israeli pounds from Israeli counterfunds which match American technical aid grants was today received from Washington and the Israel Treasury. Bruce McDaniel, director of the American technical aid headquarters in Tel Aviv, this evening began conferring with Israel Treasury officials on the expenditure of these funds.
The Israel Treasury announced that the sum would be divided among the following general categories: 9,250,000 pounds for irrigation and agriculture; 8,000,000 for housing; 2,500,000 for industrial development; 500,000 for the construction of industrial plants; 1,000,000 for communications; 250,000 for health services; and 100,000 for social welfare projects.
