Israeli authorities yesterday repatriated 511 Egyptian men, women and children who were captured when Israeli forces overran the Sinai Peninsula in last June’s Six-Day war. The repatriates, who included 81 civilian workers employed on Egyptian military installations, crossed the Suez Canal under the supervision of Red Cross representatives. At the same time, Israeli authorities handed over the body of an Egyptian prisoner of war who was killed when POWs rioted at the Athlit camp two weeks ago.
