Israel shipped 40 percent more citrus products this year than last year–5, 300,000 cases as compared to 3,700,000–it was revealed here today in connection with the close of the year’s exporting season. These exports brought $21,000,000 in foreign currency into the Treasury.
Britain, Israel’s best customer, took 3,164,000 cases; Holland purchased 390,000; Belgium, 335,000; Denmark, 200,000; Norway, 307, 000; Sweden, 241, 000; Finland, 240,000; Soviet Union, 141,000 before diplomatic and commercial relations between the two states were severed; and smaller quantities went to various other European countries. The United States Army forces in Europe purchased 4,000 cases.
