Israel said Yasser Arafat will remain confined in Ramallah until all the assassins of Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze’evi are arrested. Israeli officials said they were skeptical about a Palestinian Authority claim that it had detained the leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ahmed Sa’adat, for questioning over his involvement in Ze’evi’s murder. An Israeli government official said Israel wanted proof that Sa’adat’s arrest was genuine and not just a public relations ploy.
