Israel formally applied today to the United States for another annual food surplus agreement to provide some $30,000,000 worth of such foods, as a gift; the same amount as provided for in the current agreement.
Negotiations for renewal of the current agreement, which expires next July 1, are due to begin in Washington in about two months, Israel also buys annually about $50,000,000 worth of foods from the United States, mainly wheat.
