In an effort to find employment for Israel’s 8,000 unemployed, the country’s labor councils are diverting jobless urban workers to rural districts, it was reported here today.

The Haifa Labor Council has transferred from factories here a considerable number of Jewish and Arab workers who came form rural areas to obtain jobs. In some cases, clashes occurred between council officials and workers who refused to leave their jobs.
