A quantity of clothing and medical supplies and a jeep–assembled locally–were today flown by El Al Israel National Airlines to Greece for the benefit of victims of the recent earthquakes in the Ionian Islands. The supplies were donated by Israeli business firms.

When the Israeli flotilla which helped rescue, feed and clothe earthquake victims anchored in the harbor of Piraeus, on the Greek mainland, yesterday, Greek notables as well as army and navy officers of high rank visited the Israeli commander to express thanks for the assistance given by his men. (In Athens yesterday, a report of the United States Sixth Fleet on the rescue operations, said that the four Israeli frigates which joined the American and British forces in the rescue work had done “valuable work” in evacuating casualties from the islands to the mainland.)
