Israel’s Interministerial Committee for the Holy Year Christian Pilgrims will send delegates to Rome in a few days for a conference with Vatican authorities on final arrangements, it was reported here today.
Just before Christmas, when pilgrims are expected to begin arriving for a tour of the Holy Places, officials of the Immigration Ministry and the Customs and Treasury departments will leave for European ports. They will join groups of pilgrims leaving for Palestine and will complete on board ship the necessary formalities for a visit to Israel, thus avoiding delays on landing at this country’s ports.
The Israel Government will leave no stone unturned in facilitating travel in Israel of Christian pilgrims in the Vatican’s Holy Year of 1950, it was stated today following a meeting held by the Interministerial Committee.
