The Israeli singer Bar-Noy who has been appearing at the Taxim Casino, a popular nightclub here, has been asked to drop his entire repertoire of Hebrew songs and replace them with American pieces “for political considerations.”
Meanwhile, Turkish authorities have announced the cancellation of all soccer matches between Israeli and Turkish teams. The Turkish Football Federation, communicating this decision to Tel Aviv, attributed it to “political reasons.”
Maurice Fisher, the Israeli Minister in Turkey, has returned to Jerusalem on completion of his period of service. Because of Turkey’s recent decision to recall its Minister from Tel Aviv, no replacement is planned for Mr. Fisher.
A Turkish Foreign Office official indicated that, with both countries having recalled their ambassadors, it was likely that Turkish-Israeli diplomatic relations would stay at their present level indefinitely.
