Israel’s national soccer team, all of whose members saw action in the Six-Day War, routed the American Soccer League all-star squad by a score of 3 to 1 in an action-packed game before 22,232 cheering fans at Yankee Stadium here yesterday. The Israeli team “attacked as though borne by half tracks”, according to one observer of the game to chalk up their fifth victory in a row since leaving Israel. The game opened with the singing of Hatikvah, the Israel national anthem, and the Star Spangled Banner.
