Earth from a spot near the Mt. Herzl grave of Dr. Theodore Herzl, founder of Zionism, will be added to that from historic sites of 28 European countries in a special ceremony at the Peace Memorial in the American Legion Peace Garden here on Sunday.
The mingling of Israel soil from the historic promontory overlooking Jerusalem is in keeping with a precedent established ten years ago when earth from historic sites in 28 European countries was mingled in an urn set in a crypt at the base of the monument. The earth from the Herzl shrine was obtained by Judge Lewis Drucker during a recent visit to Israel as a member of the American Histadrut delegation.
