Israel has decided not to modify its reply to the Feb. 8, 1971 aide memoire of United Nations mediator Gunnar V. Jarring, it was learned from reliable sources today. The matter was the subject of high level consultations following receipt of a message from President Leopold Senghor of Senegal, asking Israel to adopt a more flexible position. According to reports yesterday, consultations were taking place here over the possibility of changing Israel’s reply. There was no immediate indication of the reason for today’s stand pat position.
