The 100th anniversary celebration of the birth of Henrietta Szold, founder of the Hadassah organization, began today with the issuance of a postage stamp in her honor.
Kaddish Luz, Speaker of the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, eulogized Miss Szold before the House recessed last night. Her personality, Mr. Luz declared, was an example for generations. The centenary celebrations will be held throughout the country under the sponsorship of a national committee and Hadassah.
Postal authorities today also issued a stamp commemorating the 25th Zionist Congress which opens here on December 27.
