The United Nations Security Council was requested today by Israel to call an urgent meeting to consider Egyptian acts of aggression which took place on the border during the last few days, resulting in a number of Israelis killed and wounded.
The Israel complaint to the Security Council was presented by Ambassador Abba Eban, head of the Israel delegation at the UN. It listed 15 cases of attacks by Egyptian regular and irregular forces since March 24 when Egyptians attacked a wedding party in the Israel settlement of Patish. Thirteen other incidents last month which took place prior to the Patish attack were also listed in the complaint.
Members of the Egyptian delegation indicated tonight that Egypt would file a counter-complaint.
