Israel thwarted a major drug-smuggling attempt on its border with Lebanon.
A joint army and and police force seized more than 100 pounds of heroin and hundreds of thousands of dollars on Israel’s northern border Friday night, an army spokesman said Saturday night.
Three Israeli citizens who were found carrying the drugs and money were arrested. The men already were known to police.
It was the second drug-smuggling attempt on the Lebanon border stopped in the past three weeks.
