The Israeli Government will take control tomorrow of millions of dollars of property when the former Mandatory Government’s office of the Custodian of Enemy Property moves from its present headquarters in Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.
It is expected that the Israeli Government will release within the nearest future the property of persons who are no longer classified as enemies. This is the last bureau to be transferred to Israel from British control. The chief reason for the delay is that the office was in a direct line of sniper fire during recent months and that work in transferring the files, just completed, proceeded at a snail’s pace.
