The Israel Cabinet approved a request by Foreign Minister Golda Meir for extensions of the terms of fellowships offered to students from Afro-Asian countries from the current one-year limit to periods of up to five years. Mrs. Meir, in requesting the extension, noted that the one-year fellowships at various Israeli academic institutions often proved inadequate.
The largest single contingent of African students to come to Israel arrived here last night when a special plane brought 50 students from the former French Congo. The group includes social workers, organizers of cooperatives, managers of fisheries and irrigation technicians.
