A total of 65, 000, 000 pounds ($36, 400, 000) will be invested in Israel irrigation projects this year, the Agriculture Minister said today. Forty million pounds ($22, 400, 000) of this amount will be placed at the disposal of the Jewish Agency’s settlement department.
A bill to establish a central port authority was introduced yesterday in the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament. Under the measure, administration of Israel’s port facilities would be transferred from the Government to a nine-member board of whom only four would be Government officials.
