Arab sources today reported that an agreement has already been signed between Israel and Transjordan regarding access to the Hadassah Hospital, on Mt. Scopus, which is now in Arab-held territory. The report appeared in an Arab newspaper published in Nablus. Well-informed Israel circles said that they are unaware of any such agreement.

The Israel Foreign Office today received notification from the Turkish Government that the exchange of diplomats between Israel and Turkey which took place last November is considered by the Turkish Government to be de jure recognition of the Jewish state. In making this fact public, Israel’s Foreign Office stressed that this constitutes the first time full recognition has been extended to the Jewish state by a Moslem country.

Further indications of increased friendship on the part of Turkey was seen today in the arrival here of a championship Turkish soccer team which will play a series of matches in Tel Aviv and Haifa. The members of the team travelled on an Israel plane, escorted by representatives of the Turkish press and by outstanding Turkish sportsmen.
