Israel vowed to crack down on illegal West Bank settler outposts. “Evacuating the unauthorized outposts is part of Israel’s commitments under the ‘road map,’ ” Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said at Sunday’s Cabinet session. That body voted 18-1 to adopt an internal report that slammed the government for failing to stop, and on occasion even encouraging, the spread of the outposts.
