Israel will commemorate on the 23rd of Tevet (Tuesday) North African Jews who fell in the service of Zionism and during work on illegal immigration, the Cabinet decided Sunday. The decision was passed at the suggestion of Premier Menachem Begin and Absorption Minister David Levy. The 23rd of Tevet is the 35th anniversary of the sinking of North African immigrants’ boat in the Straight of Gibraltar. Forty there of the people on board died.
