Israel Zuriel, Israel’s Commissioner of Tourism for North America, reported Monday that 62,167 American tourists visited Israel during the period of January-April of this year. This, he noted, is an increase of 55 percent compared to the same period in 1975 during which 40,058 Americans visited Israel. Zuriel said that the tourist flow from the U.S. to Israel reached its peak last month when 20,792 Americans visited Israel compared to 10,634 in April, 1975.
