Two Jews, one an American, the other an Israeli, received research grants here today from the Rockefeller Foundation.
The Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association of New York was given $6,180 to enable John Simon, a drama critic, to observe professional theater groups and university drama programs outside New York City. Dr. Dan Atsmon, a research associate in the plant genetics section of the Weizmann Institute of Science, at Rehovot, was awarded $5, 800 by the Foundation to underwrite a tour of plant science research centers in the United States, Great Britain and Europe.
