Israeli army officials are working on a plan to encourage Israeli Arab citizens to volunteer for army service, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported Thursday. A senior army officer was quoted as saying that openly encouraging volunteers could prevent Israeli Arab youths from joining extremist groups.
