Esther Roth, Israel’s top entry in the 1976 Olympics, finished sixth in the women’s 100-meter hurdles but set a new Israeli record of 13.04 seconds. This beat her semi-finals time of 13.06 seconds which had bettered her previous record of 13.09 seconds. Ms. Roth, 24, was the only member of the 1972 Israeli Olympics team, 11 of whose members were massacred by Arab terrorists in Munich, on the current Israeli team.
