Israeli Attorney General Elyakim Rubinstein ordered police to investigate Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for allegedly violating an election funding law, a Justice Ministry spokesman said. According to Army Radio, State Comptroller Eliezer Goldberg criticized Sharon and his son, Omri, in a report last month for allegedly violating election laws by accepting a donation of some $1.4 million to fund a primary election campaign in 1999.
