An Israeli businessman will try to persuade East African government officials and representatives of shipping Interests to use the land bridge across Israel–from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea–In order to save up to ten days on present ocean freight routes around Africa. The businessman, S. Lewinson, general manager of the Keden Land Bridge Company of Haifa, plans to visit East Africa later this month, according to a dispatch from Reuters. His company operates trucks daily from the Red Sea port of Elath to the new Mediterranean port of Ashdod.
